Course Development

ILC hires Ontario-certified teachers to write courses based on the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum, for grades 9 to 12. Candidates should be experienced classroom teachers, with demonstrated ability in course, curriculum, or textbook development. All work and communications are electronic. Contracts are short-term, fee for service. At present, ILC requires teachers of science, French, and visual art. Retired teachers are particularly encouraged to apply.

Interested and qualified teachers should send a cover letter and resume listing courses taught, by code and title, and years and schools where they were taught. Those contacted will be asked to submit a short essay, a sample original lesson and three references.

Coursework Evaluation and Test Supervision

Teachers are sometimes required on a fee for service contract as ILC Associate Teachers (English and French), and as ILC Test Supervisors. Associate teachers evaluate the coursework of ILC's independent, distance education students. ILC Test Supervisors supervise the final tests of ILC courses.

Teachers must be specialists in their subject area. Only Ontario Certified Teachers in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers will be considered.

Ask a Teacher Online Tutoring

Teachers are sometimes required on a fee for service contract as ILC Ask a Teacher online tutors. Tutors provide homework help through our online live Chat Room service, during the hours from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Teachers must be certified in math, science or English, at the high school level. Only Ontario Certified Teachers in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers will be considered.
