Ask a Teacher is pleased to provide our registered visitors with a link to Knowledge Ontario, a collaboration of libraries, cultural heritage organizations, and educational institutions. Its focus is on connecting Ontarians with digital content to support their information and learning needs. The resources and materials available through Knowledge Ontario go well beyond what is available on the Internet, with online licensed databases including full text of newspapers, magazines, reference books, Canadian newswires, and more, available to all Ontarians free of charge.
Resource Ontario includes InfoTrac, which has more than 10,200 titles from newspapers and journals from 1980 to the present; Health and Wellness Resource Center, Kids InfoBits and InfoTrac Junior, the Military and Intelligence Database, the Discovering Collection with more than 79,000 articles of general and academic interest, and much more. Some databases are specifically for Kindergarten to Grade 12.
In addition to Resource Ontario, Knowledge Ontario has these two components:
- Ask Ontario, a real-time, online personal assistance reference centre
- OurOntario.ca, connecting Ontarians with our heritage, history and culture through text, audio, video and image digital materials
