Writing the Final Test Outside Ontario

While writing the Final Test(s) outside Ontario is possible, ILC strongly encourages you to write the Final Test(s) when you return to Ontario. ILC cannot guarantee delivery of Final Tests to all countries. Please consult a learner advisor for further details.

All ILC secondary school credit courses (Grades 9-12) have supervised Final Tests. ILC-appointed test supervisors are generally not available outside Ontario. In order to write your Final Test, you will have to nominate someone to act as your test supervisor. You and the person you nominate must complete the Test Supervisor Nomination Form included at the end of this guide. It is best to plan ahead and find a test supervisor soon after you enrol in a course. Please select an educator at a local school, school board, or educational institution as your test supervisor. The institution must affix the institutional seal or stamp to the bottom portion of the Test Supervisor Nomination Form. Alternatively, you may provide a signed letter, on institutional letterhead, stating the name and position of the individual you are nominating and indicating that the person is currently employed at the institution.

If you cannot select an educator, select a librarian or member of the clergy to supervise your test. No other supervisors will be approved by ILC. Please note that the test supervisor must not live in your household, nor be a relative or friend. Also, the test supervisor must be approved by ILC. Please have the supervisor sign the Test Supervisor Nomination Form and return it to ILC before you begin your last unit of work.
