Course Procedures and Policies

Access and Release of Information

Information about you or your course work will be released only to you unless you give us your written and signed permission. This restriction includes parents, spouses, and friends. Personal and course work information will only be released through written consent of the adult student or parent/guardian of the non-adult student.

Students under 18 years of age

Please note that parents have access to their child's educational information until their child's 18th birthday. After that, ILC requires written permission from the child to release information to a parent. Please have your child complete the Release of Information Form and send it to the ILC two or three weeks before your child turns 18. Without written permission, ILC will be unable to release information to you about your child's educational records.

Students 18 years of age or over

If you are 18 years of age or older, we can share information only with you, unless you give us signed permission to release information to someone else. If you wish a family member or friend to contact us for information or materials, or to arrange for final tests or further enrolments, you must indicate this on your registration form. Make sure you complete and sign the "Collection of Personal Information and Consent to Access and/or Release" section of your registration form. If you are living outside of Ontario or Canada, you may appoint your Ontario liaison in this section. You may also name any other person to contact us for information or materials, or to arrange for final tests or further enrolments.
