Maturity Credits and Prior Learning
At ILC, we value the years of experience and skills that our students have accumulated away from the high school.
Making the decision to go back to high school after many years can seem daunting and overwhelming. For some adults, there may be unresolved feelings towards their adolescent school experience; others may have had to leave school for economic or family reasons. It takes determination, dedication and courage to change your life, and for that we commend you.
The fact that you are returning to a secondary school program to earn your diploma is a clear demonstration of commitment and resolve.
And we will help you get there.
The Ontario Ministry of Education acknowledges that mature students bring a wealth of life, work and training experience to their diploma pursuit. The Ministry has given direction to secondary schools to grant up to twelve Maturity Credits or ten Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) Credits for Mature Students to eligible students.
